Belinda’s Doctoral Journey

My doctoral journey begins from here …

Learning Design, Learning Science.

Learning design, traditionally referred to as instructional design, has primarily concentrated on educational technology. However, the learning sciences have recently developed as a distinct community (Hoadley, 2004). While both communities aim to enhance learning and share an interest in technology, they differ significantly in four key areas: scope and goals, theoretical commitments, methods, and historical development (Hoadley, 2004).

Lexicon

Providing a list of lexicon with definitions of the topics, key terms, and related theoretical frameworks is important for ensuring clarity and a shared understanding among researchers. It helps in accurately interpreting and applying theoretical concepts in practical settings, enhancing the overall quality and coherence of research and instructional design efforts.
